This is The Apartment Hunter blog. Thanks for stopping by to check it out.

I have lived through just about every possible rental situation between 2004 and 2007—which is when I found the vintage gem where I spent three and a half wonderful years (in Minnesota).

I’ve spent a good chunk of time over the years in apartment hunting mode and continue to hunt for apartments and check out neighborhoods simply because I enjoy seeing what’s out there. I also like helping others find a place when they’re moving. Feel free to contact me if you are searching for an apartment and need any tips or suggestions and don’t find what you’re looking for in any of my posts.

I’m a graphic designer by trade, but have been talking about starting an apartment hunting company (or just this blog) so I can help others avoid the disasters I’ve survived. Lucky for you. Seriously, if you can learn from, or just plain avoid, my rental disasters you’ll be much better off.

Landlords and property management companies are also welcome to listen in on the tips and advice I share. Some of what I’ve learned has a lot to do with finding the right landlord. I’ve also joked with friends or past roommates about having landlords fill out an application, or at least a survey, for prospective tenants. That would have saved me quite a few headaches.

Anywho…fall 2010 brought some big changes in my life, including a move. Don’t worry, I’m still a renter, so plenty more apartment hunting stories, tips, and advice will be coming.
